"...the mainstream media are...drive-by shooters. This is exactly what they are. They pull up to a congested area; they spray a hail of bullets into the crowd, causes mass hysteria, mass confusion, mistakes and misinterpretation. Sometimes people or their careers actually die. The mainstream media then smirks and pats itself on the back, says, "Look what we can do," and they ride away unnoticed in the excitement. They are never blamed; they are never held accountable. In fact, they are lauded, they are held up as heroes, mostly by themselves. But they are. They just troll around looking for any issue they can to get everybody all worked up, creating hysteria. It is like a drive-by shooter. It's like road rage every day. That's what the mainstream press has become.
Every time they do this, every time they pull up to one of these congested areas and spray a hail of bullets into the crowd, somebody's gotta mop up the mess that they caused..."

although the poll appears bogus, i do not believe bush is over 50%, the problem dems have is they cant capitalize on it because they are represented by micheal moore and cindy sheehan.

Even with C-BS news out of the mix, the generally polling trends aren't looking good for Dubya right now.

So what? You think this is going to make his run for his third term as President in 2008 more difficult or something?

>>>>So what?

Bush may not be running for POTUS in 2008, but he is the leader of the GOP and there is a mid-term election in Nov 2006. The slim margins of balance in the House and Senate are a concern. Right now, its up for grabs. Nothing is certain.

Exactly.

I don't see why there's an expectation that an approval poll be balanced by party. It seems to me that if the sample is sufficiently random, the answer can get obtained without even ASKING about party. It's not an electoral poll.

Also, wouldn't it make sense that if the President's approval *IS* low (and I don't think anybody's arguing that it's good right now), wouldn't it make sense for fewer people to identify themselves with his party?

I know it's fashionable here to just reject any bad news, but this is NOT good for us. This ports deal is hurting badly.

The polls will not kill the Republicans in 08. The Republicans outspending RATs will kill Republicans.

Bush being fiscally more socialist than Scumbag will kill the Republicans hope in 08.

Failure to protect our national sovereignty will kill all Republican hopes in 08.

Bush calling Manslaughter Kennedy a "fine Senator" and kissing up to Scumbag and Scumbagette will kill all hope Republicans have in 08.

Bush giving more money to global charity than he gives to Border Patrol and Immigration kills all chances of Republican success in 08.

Bush's failure to veto idiotic spending programs, and Bush's failure to consolidate and close many of the fat hog redundant programs ends all chances of GOP success in 08, not the bogus poll numbers.

Bush's failure to recognize that the RAT party is at war with America and at war with the GOP, and Bush and the GOP allowing the RATs to wage frontal assaults against them while they just lie down and let the RATs trample on them spikes all chances of success for the GOP in 08.

The most fatal flaw are the GOP loyalists, like many at FR, who fail to show outrage against the GOP when they act like RATs. Blind loyalty causes the Republicans to act more and more RAT-like. Many FR members need to rethink how they respond to GOP action, lack of action and their agenda. Lack of critque and outrage by grassroots members is killing all hopes of GOP success in 08.

Exactly.

Thanks.

This ports deal is hurting badly.

I know. I've followed this closely and I don't know what the solution is.

Perhaps, this is an example that not all problems have a solution.

Sometimes it's good not to be the King.
