I wouldn't be surprised if the Secret Service told the King family that either the President would attend or Belafonte, that they wouldn't allow Belafonte in close proximity to the President, and told them to choose.

Secret Service doesn't do things that way. They say 'This guy isn't allowed to breach security.' No choices, no arguments. Makes for interesting arguments every time there's a big speech at a black church.

Actually I wish he would have gone... probably woulda sat next to Hillary and been talking to her in that heinous voice during the service... lettin' her know that he knows about being "on the plantation" and how he can help her win in '08
