But shouldn't the wishes of the would-be mother be taken into account as well? If she were forced to have a child because of a rape, that would be pretty rough. Imagine looking into the eyes of your child and reliving that moment... over and over again.

There have to be exceptions... extreme cases. Abortion is not birth control, but to ban it completely is definitely not the right thing to do.

If a woman is raped and becomes pregneant from that rape, all options should be made available to her. This should be nobody else's business. Forcing a woman to bear the child of the man that violently attacked her seems pretty medieval.

Women do not look in the eyes of their child and see the act that created them. If the woman bonded enough to her child to not put it up for adoption then she will not spend her life seeing the act of rape, she will see her baby.

And no woman is forced to raise a child that she cannot bond with. She has options once the child is born.
