I can't really recall when a mother's life would be in danger during pregnancy, other than from systemic diseases such as diabetes or eclampsia. By the time the mother starts to suffer symptoms from her medical condition, it's usually around the time of infant viability, about 6 months, so I don't know who in their right mind would consider killing their child at that point.

less that that. Women are given birth control at the hospital to prevent pregnancy after rape. I used to work at EMS. Most of the "I was raped" victims refused to press charges against the rapists but they wanted a free abortion. It was a ruse.
