General Nagin -- On Horseback
Sweetness & Light ^ | February 28, 2006 | N/A

Posted on 02/28/2006 6:31:54 PM PST by Sam Hill

I know, it's Mardi Gras. And Mayor Nagin is trying to be funny. Probably he believes he is paying tribute to that "John Wayne Dude," Lt. Gen. Russel Honore.

But still, there' something funny about the imagery.

And I guess he better learn to ride if he is going to take up residence with the rest of his family in Texas after the elections.

Nagin's going to have a tough time. He'd better hope that
most poor Blacks that he hurt, don't return!

Well, they are already trying to pass out the absentee ballots in places like Houston. "Here's your ballot, and a couple for your friends too", lol.

you know, if he was just wearing the desert Cammies and a blank beret, I would forgive him. But he's wearing general's stars and a huge rack of ribbon's, thats unforgivable and possibly against the law. It's a shame. He treats our uniform as a prop. I don't care what his political persuasion, what he's doing is wrong.

"(and he's pulling on the poor critter's mouth, and it's looking pained but polite.)"

A pet peeve of mine, too. I can't stand to watch most westerners because of the way the actors saw at the horses' mouths.

I cannot, and will not fault your argument, as I am in total agreement. He cheapens the uniform by such display, and worse cheapens what those who have worn it have done. I am such a one myself...

Nah, that's Andy "Ol' Hickory" Nagin, posing for the new statue he thinks they're going to put up in front of St Louis Cathedral of him.

Make that "Ol' Chocolate" on his trusty steed, Truxton.

My grandfather used to say: "Son, there's more horses asses in this world than there are horses."

Man is that true in this case.

I'd take that police curb bit away and make him ride with a rubber mouth snaffle for a couple of weeks. . . .that'd cure him!

I ride my mare in a round-mouth French snaffle with a German martingale . . . that's plenty of brakes when I need them.
