ahh, moral relativism--- it's not just for the left. funny how people like yourself point out that saddam funded suicide bombers as part of your evidence that he was a threat and should be taken out.

Hmm get back to me when saddam provided aid for the US Navy and US troops as the UAE has.

Yes, exactly right. Why does Sean not look into that instead of spouting inaccurate info. He sounds like Schumer. Why does he not ask Schumer about his wife Iris Weinshall ,the Ny City DOT Commissioner, and her role in the Staten Island Ferry Tragedy. She was appointed in September of 2000 and the Negligence Caused accident that killed 11 and maimed dozens happened in October of 2003. She is still there and was named by The US Coast Guard that investigated the Tragedy as one of those to blame for the horrific accident. Sean should ask Chuckie about this matter. Schumer sure can blame everyone else for things that happen on their watch. What about Iris' watch? Why are Bloomberg and the NY City Port authority People covering for her? Why do they never mention that she is Schumer's wife. Reading her bigraphy is like reading the ACLU Biographies.

To be honest this whole issue of the Taliban and UAE is a farce. I hate to say it be we recognized Iraq untill 1990 and the Kuwait invasion and we darn well what he was doing. Thats not a left or right talking point just a fact. It never bothered me because I understood the realities of the region. I wonder pre 911 how many threads on FR we could find talking about the horrible Taliban. How many discussion threads were about Afghanastain period.

hmm, get back to me when you can disprove this from the Wall Street Journal:

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB114066714703481063.html?mod=home_whats_news_us

"Dubai is believed to have been one of the most important conduits for Iran's nuclear technology acquisition program, according to U.S. court cases and interviews with experts in the field" because "Iran uses Dubai to evade U.S. economic sanctions on Iran and other Middle Eastern countries. The UAE doesn't recognize those sanctions."

pat yourself on the back, dane-- you're shilling for a country that has assisted iran in gaining nuclear capabilities!

THe UAE hates Iran they stolen Islands and oil termianls from them. THe UAE is not a big fan of Iran. Which is one reason why they will back us if we dont blow it when we attack Iran if it comes to that. They have alot more to lose. Iranian missles wont be falling on us but on the UAE including all that investment over there. Its real easy to be critical of the UAE but everyone forgets there likely to be a target in retaliation and its there cilvians that will be killed not ours

you do the "Schumer's wife" routine every day...it's enough already. You're preaching to the choir here.

Secondly, the "sounds like Schumer" comment is twaddle.

I just saw a blurb on C-span that said that the first poll of the US Military in Iraq shows that a majority of them think we should have a speedy withdrawal from Iraq...

First of all...that could be 51%...it didn't say...

Second of all...I would imagine that ANY troop would want a speedy withdrawal..I wonder if they were asked if that would be the WISE thing to do?

Third.....since when did soldiers get POLLED on what they want to do??

"THe UAE hates Iran"

i am aware of the island issue...however:

Iran, UAE explore expansion of trade relations Tehran, Feb 2, IRNA

additionally the UAE has been tied to AQ Khan, who was allowed by dubai to be a meeting and shipment point of nuclear equipment to iran and other countries.

"Opponents of the deal also argue that the FBI found that the UAE's banking system filtered much of the money used for the operational planning before the Sept. 11 attacks, and many of the hijackers traveled to the United States through the UAE. On top of that, the UAE was an important transfer point for shipments of smuggled nuclear components sent to Iran, North Korea and Libya by a Pakistani scientist."

They are trying so hard in the media. They will not give up as long as they have hope that they can turn this into a disaster and prove George Bush wrong. Nothing else matters to them.

She is still there, and she is being protected by Bloomberg. They are all in the strange bedfellows deal. There were several people fired and jailed for that incident, and she was not fired or even suspended or reprimanded. The latest I heard was that Bloomberg was trying to screw the Victims and their families out of any Lawsuit Monies because any conservative jury would award adequate anmounts of compensation for death and horrible disfigurement in a easily verifiable negligent case. The NY City Taxpayers will pay for the cost of her incompetence, and her cow-towing to the Unions just like Chuckie is doing now. Where is the Outrage?

You know it has been done before but obviously do not care. I do not do it everyday, but someone like you that will dismiss this as nothing needs to hear it 24-7 until it finally sinks in maybe 5 years down the road.

Those trade deals will mean nothing when Iranian missles come raining down on the UAE. If the Iran is attacked it wont all be from carriers. UAE knows that. LIke I said in the beginning of this controversy we need UAE as to any action in Iran esp if it gets out of control. Out of all the countries in the middle East besides Israel the UAE is most at risk. They know we are Irans mortal enemy. Despite that we have had increased our presence their every year. I guess it comes down to this. The UAE has thrown their lot in with us and has for years. With that has to be mutual respect. We cant treat an International Player in Finance and commerce like the UAE like a pariah when they are taking these risk for us.
