I regret that Robert Byrd was elected and remains a US Senator.

Unfortunately Byrd will be reelected to his WV senate seat.
He will probably drop dead on the senate floor.
The GOP in WV is weak but starting to show some signs of life. Shelly Moore Caputo is a hopeful sign. However there probably isn't a GOP'er capable of winning a state-wide election.(If such a person exists he needs to run for Governor first!) My prediction is when Byrd goes to that great Klan rally in the sky, Manchin (the Demo Guv) will probably appoint himself to the seat. Manchin who governs as a moderate to conservative democrat will then move hard to the left in order to have any sort of influence in the senate.
