>> The only visit to the Principal's office I had was for being lazy, which I still am. <<
As someone with ADD, (NOT ADHD!), I've learned some traits which reflect ADD:
Strange combinations of thoughts, demonstrated by a warped sense of humor
Failure to accomplish in a day my goals, which I labelled "lazy."
"Absent-mindedness"
Non-disruptive, but "off-task" behavior in school
A tendency to be called "Bob," even though that's not my name.
Reject the treatment if you want to, but you might just want to see if you have ADD. I still have my warped humor, but I get a lot more accomplished in a day.
Sorry, I'm too lazy to seek justification in victimhood.
I don't have ADD, ADHD, or an addition to Ritalin. I'm just not well-motivated.
I can summon the enthusiasm to do a lot of interesting and productive things, as long as it's fun.
Usually, my lack of enthusiasm is directly proportional to how much the project benefits someone else instead of me.
Maybe I'm not actually lazy -- just selfish. But definitely not affected, infected, or dejected by anything, (although I was Se-lected at one time.)
By the way, it has never bothered me to be called Bob. I have been called Bill a few times, but that didn't bother me much either.
