never heard of the plastic film.. we didn't have it & I was not at friends house to watch TV as youngsters do now. When I was out with friends we were outside playing, at movies, or skating, swimming etc.
Funny thing.. not much has changed in my life over the MANY decades

A Belated Happy Birthday to you, NnB. What day was it? My grandson celebrated his 9th birthday on the 26th. But, he can't be that old. It's not possible, because his grandmother is too young to have a grandson that old. LOL

My birthday was on Monday.
"... his grandmother is too young to have a grandson that old."
I know what you mean. Here's the one that floors me:
I was thinking about suggesting my neighbor for a job opening I knew about. He's a nice kid, nearing twenty-nine, now. I knew his father.
His father is a good fellow too, I've known him a long time, and I knew his father.
Now, that fellow I didn't always get along with, but I guess he was alright. After all, I knew his father, too.
So now you know
why I claim to be older than dirt.

SAND SCULPTURE
I live in the desert. This is probably the only kind of "sculptures" I'm gonna see around here! LOL!

Oh, I would love to go to Hawaii again.....but first we have this cruise to Alaska booked in July. I am thinking that January 07 is a perfect time to escape the cold and head to Hawaii. :-)
Pretty palm tree ice sculpture!

I would have replied sooner, but I've been reading "Before There Was Dirt" and that took awhile!
Thanks for the poetry you share with us. Have a good day, NnB.

Yes, it's very pleasing the way the picture and the poem seem to fit so well together, -- but it's not so very surprising when you realize that the poem was written
because of the picture!
(It's like painting the bullseye around the arrow after it has hit the target.)

Maybe it's SORTA like that, but that picture just cried out for a poem to be written. I admire your talent.

Aww! Thanks!
I'm trying to write a poem describing my relationship with "my" talent. It's to be titled, "I'm Occupied."
I'll let you know if I can get all the edges chipped away.
