Hmm... I see "aberrations... running here and there" all the time where I live - there's preciously little besides "aberrations", to tell the truth.

Obviously the writer meant "apparitions".
That sort of thing happens when English isn't your first language.
Like calling a terrorist hideout a "rest house" instead of a "safe house", which would be the proper terminology.
Actually, I think the author did a good job as far as writing the story in English.

Actually, it was their attempt at translation of a phraseologism: the official name for the excremists in Saudi Arabia is "deviants" and "aberrationists" [from supposedly benign religious mainstream]. And as for the restroom which was shot out - it serves perfectly right to the excremists who were killed there. It is hard to imagine a better and more proper place...
But anyway, I found their usage funny and decided to play it a little.
