MAJOR BARF ALERT!!!!

How can we help? Here are 14 ways:

Jane and Chris Jewell sponsored a concert to help build Palestinian homes. Last Saturday their friends met at their home in Marin County, CA, to discuss how they can help Palestinians. Here is what they they came up with:

Our group has grown from around 6, to 12, to 13, a Baker’s dozen - Now we are Fourteen Plus! We plan to meet once a month to organize projects selected from any of the ideas below – these are just my ideas, you are welcome to add to the list if you feel this is not enough.

Here are 14 ways:

1. Support any of the big organizations that are working for the Palestinian cause in whatever way we can. . Organise a fundraiser . Give a house party, concert, or dinner for 6/8/10/12….

2. Educate ourselves. Obtain information about the atrocities being committed against the Palestinians, from any of the following websites. Join their mailing lists.

3. Support the Rachel Corrie Resolution. Our Representative, Lynn Woolsey, has already cosponsored the Resolution H Con Res 111. However, many USA Reps have not. Ask friends and relatives from out-of-state, or outside Marin, to contact their Rep. 77 cosponsors so far, out of 435 Representatives. Pathetic!

4. Petition KQED to show John Pilger’s film, “Palestine is still the Issue.”

The PBS in Buffalo, New York has already aired it, and San Francisco should do the same. If enough of us petition KQED in San Francisco, it will persuade those sitting on the fence to agree to show the film.
Host a gathering to show them this film, and ask them to do the same, so it snowballs.

5. Display a ‘free Palestine’ sticker on the back of your car. Plenty for sale on the Internet!

Now you have to always drive courteously.

6. TALK: Tell your friends about what the Israeli government is doing to the Palestinian people, funded by our tax dollars. (USA sends more military aid to Israel than to the whole continent of Africa.) It is our money that is causing their suffering, and therefore our responsibility to stop it. Increase public awareness. Pass on information about Palestine to your friends. Go to lectures about Palestine.

7. Deliver flyers, forward emails, and so on. If Americans Knew need people to pass out flyers. Go round Safeway’s parking lot and leave 50 on car windscreens. Or Costcos, or Whole Foods, or anywhere. How about the traffic jam on Richmond Bridge?

8. Write to the newspaper. Ask SF Chronicle editor Phil Bronstein when he is going to meet with the members of If Americans Knew, as he declared he would at a public meeting 3 months ago – but has not yet done so. (415) 777 7100

9. Join in public demonstrations, whenever they are organized, such as by Women In Black, the American Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee, Jewish Voice for Peace.

10. Write letters of protest to the US government, since they are the ones who fund the Israeli atrocities in the first place. Without our tax dollars, the ethnic cleansing that is going on at the moment would stop. feinstein.senate.gov Diane Feinstein: San Francisco

11. Sign petition to Michael Moore to make a film on Palestine. see www.jewishvoiceforpeace.org

12. Support the Refuseniks. Email a Refusenik’s Mom to tell her what a great son she has. Express your admiration to them. They are ostracised by their own communities, and badly need our moral support. These kids are jailed for 2 years, when others of the same age are out partying and going to movies.

13. Take action against Caterpillar bulldozers. www.CATdestroysHomes.org.

14. Finally, NEVER feel that there is nothing we small folk can do. As Fred Scholmka of the Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions once said, we can make a difference if ‘we all do our little bit to help’. Lots of little bits add up to a powerful total.

Thank you for your support. No matter how small, please pledge that you will spend a minimum of 10 minutes to do at least one thing to help the Palestinians this month.
