I think its been a while since Utah encouraged polygamy. My point was, the number mentioned in the article could be accurate.

While Utah does not officially allow polygamy, there are numerous polygamist cults in Utah and thousands living in plural marriages -- too many to prosecute. The official line is to prosecute only when there is child abuse or child marriage.
