Agreed - the guy's a bit of a lightweight, or more likely, is exaggerating for effect. We used to "drink" (if that's the word for it) more Everclear in college than the supposed "lethal" quantity of whiskey, and with no more ill effect than waking up inverted and fully dressed in the shower. Or in bed with - well, let's not go there. On other occasions, I've had some high-octane moonshine in West Virginia that produced rather odd effects similar to those commonly associated with absinthe.
These days, I stick to more refined beverages, and for the same reason most of us do: I have a job and a family and can't afford to have my picture in the paper for being arrested while dancing and howling on the Village Green at 3am with a bunch of naked cheerleaders. And what fun might that be?
