I have done a lot of genealogy on my side of the family and my wife's.

In the last century and up to last year, every married woman on both sides of our very large families out lived their husband with the exception of one. She was a brittle diabetic and had a son inspite of the warnings from their doctor. She died within 10 years of her son's birth.

I called my wife, who is the head nurse for a very busy FP for over 27 years. I asked her if she could remember any man outliving his wife unless there was a car accident or some other accidental death and a couple of hard drinking, drug using and smoking floozies. Recently one woman paitient in her fifty's died and left a husband. She had polio as a child and was ravaged by the second appearance of the disease. My wife and the Doctor she works for could remember one other man. He and his two brothers who are in their 90's did out live their wives.

We have gone to the same church for 30 years and we can remember a single man out living his wife. His wife died of alztheimer's, and he died a couple of months later. My wife did a quick check of our latest church directory, and there are 30 widows and zero widowers.

We did have a retired widower move into the church a few years ago at age 69. He was swooped on by all the widows in the church and married one.

I know that this is not good science, but it beats the bs/Bad Science in the article you posted.

Same with my ex wife. I saw her the other day. She looks horrible. Must be God's way of punishing her for the way
that she treated me.
