You, and people like you, are the reason so many people who would do otherwise, vote Democrat. You frighten others with your close-minded attitudes and ignorance. You know nothing of what you say, didn't even read the article, but automatically maligned this woman by calling her a "SLUT" and want her child taken from her. I pray to God that you have the good sense to stay off a jury of any kind. I also pray that others do not hear your thoughts that might think all Republicans think as you.

I have seen first hand innocent people go to jail. Decades ago, I worked at a family-owned and operated business and rented a room from them. The sons of that family were pedalling drugs unbeknownst to any of us. While the boys, and thankfully myself, were working at night getting the goods ready for the morning, the police raided the house. The father had recently been in a fork-lift accident; thus both legs and one arm were in casts and suffering much pain. It did not matter, they beat his face to a pulp for daring to ask what they were doing after they had knocked him to the ground, along with the mother who tried to dissuade them from beating her husband. The sister, who was my age, my best friend and brilliant was studying to become a lawyer as a hurdle to becoming a judge... big dreams back in those days since not too many women became judges. Her dream was crushed due to the arrest and subsequent conviction of charges of which she was clueless.

I came within a hair's breadth of the same happening to myself, but was lucky that I was asked to pull a night shift that night. My life today would be very different if I had been home that night.

The boys were never arrested.

I will never forget coming home that morning and seeing the total destruction of that home, calling the police thinking it had been burgled, and hearing the news. Nor will I forget the bruised faces of those nice people, nor the beaten and disgraced faces they bore while they sold and closed their business and sold their home to pay legal fees and move out of what they termed to be a "God-foresaken" city.

Don't ever be so naive to think that this could never happen to you. Believe it or not, there are indeed innocent people rotting away in our jails while the guilty walk our streets. Our justice system is a disgrace, IMO.

IOW, those with a moral code are "closed minded." If you want everything to be relative, then you are closer to being a liberal anyway.

You know nothing of what you say, didn't even read the article, but automatically maligned this woman by calling her a "SLUT" and want her child taken from her.

A woman who moves in with a man and they have sex together out of wedlock is a slut. Do you have another word for it?

I pray to God that you have the good sense to stay off a jury of any kind. I also pray that others do not hear your thoughts that might think all Republicans think as you.

This isn't a partisan issue -- it is a moral one. The fact I actually have moral values should scare moral relativists like you.

Bummer. I didn't say the police were right. I was talking about the fact this woman brought her child knowingly into harms way by her loose morals and putting her own desire for sex in front of her child's welfare.

I came within a hair's breadth of the same happening to myself, but was lucky that I was asked to pull a night shift that night. My life today would be very different if I had been home that night.

Well maybe you should thank your Maker and perhaps look at His Laws.

Bummer. Did someone sue the police department?

Don't ever be so naive to think that this could never happen to you.

I pick my friends very carefully. Most people know if drugs are being sold. I don't believe no one suspected. If not then it is you who are, indeed, naive.

Believe it or not, there are indeed innocent people rotting away in our jails while the guilty walk our streets.

Yes, I believe it. That has nothing with my posts.

Our justice system is a disgrace, IMO.

That also has nothing to do with my posts. But, for what it is worth, I thik the WOD is a massive waste of time and money (and people). We should declare that we lost and move on. Billions, maybe trillions would be saved. Crime would be cut in half (or better) overnight.

And this stance is very much in keeping with my strong feelings about morality. The decision to use a drug is an individual one. If it affects others (as does alcohol for example), then we have to take action. But the idea that one drug (alcohol) is OK and others (MJ, H, etc.) are not is just drawing an invisible line.

The WOD discussion is for another time. It doesn't change the terrible behavior of this lady and the abuse of her child.
