In the 1970's the Jewish temple on the mount was taught in relation to the rapture. And in my life time there have been at least a dozen times that it has been preached that there was a new plan that was going to be implemented at thus and so year that the Government of Israel was going to seize the temple mount and begin construction or that they were already beginning secret construction.

All of the rapture plans call for the temple to be built so that the oblation may cease at the hands of the Antichrist

There are a few problems 1) All the stories of the Israeli government going to take over the temple mount since I was a young teen have been lies 2) No Jews in Israel practice any animal sacrifices -- when a African tribe was found to have converted to Judaism biblical law of Moses Judaism doing all the animal sacrifices -- and they appealed to Israel for help and protection -- Israel sent rabbis (This article was on FR probably 2 years ago and told them in no uncertain terms animal sacrifices were not to be done. And these people ceased that practice as well. Even the ultra conservative Jews do not practice animal sacrifices. And I add to that the lost tribes that were found in Cochran India that last year were restored to Israel last year with no small fanfare -- they do not do animal sacrifices and have ceased independently of doing so for two millenia.

I know what all was taught and is still preached and probably could recite it by memory -- But the there is not there. So for this to be pulled off -- Israel with suddenly have to have this mass conversion to Mosaic Judaisms and come up with priests w/o lineage to do sanctify themselves make holy consecration oil incense and other things that no one knows the proportions of ingredients of, they have to reconstruct the arc and all the furniture of the temple -- this teaching calls for a lot of things not just building fires and burning cows and goats.

Now is Daniel it is not prophesied that the sacrifice and temple will be restored 1 year or three and a half years before the Antichrist appears so he can walk in make a special appearance and cause it to cease.

In Daniel it speaks of this sacrifice as having been a continual sacrifice and that the continual sacrifice will cease -- now that should be a bit of a hint or clue that there is something wrong with this teaching -- because the sacrifice has ceased since 70 AD until now and for it to show up for a year or three does not make it continual.

Rather than go into a prolonged biblical study I will instead ask a question that all student of biblcal teaching can readily answer, where when and why did this doctrine first appear?

Actually the truth is that almost no Christian cares at all where what they were taught comes from -- if their pastor or denomination teaches it, it comes right from the mouth of God. And only heretic would dare try to find out if a teaching is some new man-made or older man-made teaching or was it taught in its present form by Christ and the apostles, or was it "modified"

So if we are to search "restorative teachings" or "Restorative Doctrine" on Google we would find that this was a teaching that arose in the 1700's and 1800's among a specific set of churches and denominations and in the early 1800's there were many articles published in newspapers concerning this teaching. What fueled this was the restoration of the Jewish language by a rabbi in the late 1700's and in the early 1800's Jews assembling and seeking to make a nation again did you know that a large organization of Jews between 1820-1830 wanted to establish a Jewish nation in the US? Did you know they wanted to do it in new york state? This involved Grand Island and building a city (zion)there. And I might mention they had strong Christian support

The restorative movement was then hijacked by Joseph Smith and the Mormons -- all of this is written in hundreds and I mean hundreds of ear newspaper accounts

the restorative movement was originally baptist methodist and Presbyterians and after the Mormons converted many of the movements followers and leaders the movement receeded for about 50 years and had a resurgence prior to the pentecostal revival and again many of its followers and preachers moved into petecostalism and this movement had a resurgence again in 1948 when Israel became a nation and suddenly the doctrine was in the forefront again.

Now as we well know Paul calls the church the Israel of God, and speaks of the church being grafted on Israels roots and Israel being the branches broken off -- all of this is counter to the restorative teachings with Israel having building or needing a temple. The Church is the embodiment of the temple and neither Christ nor the apostles gave any commands to build cathedrals temples or monasteries -- it was the leaders of the apostate churches that did and so the Catholic church eventually built this huge temple to God that they called the Vatican and oddly enough in this Vatican for well over 1000 years they have offered what they call in their own words a continual sacrifice to God -- it is done with false levities on false altars but it is none the less the continual sacrifice as spoken of by Daniel

And I might add that Catholics have their own prophets St. Malachi that declares that their daily sacrifice shall cease when they Antichrist walks into the Vatican and causes the sacrifice to cease. In the eyes of the World the catholic church is Christianity and protestantism is just a subgroup

Protestantism has no Vatican -- they have no temple anyone can walk into. The Jews have no Vatican or temple of the means to make either from a Mosaic standpoint -- give this a little thought read some scripture insert fallen church or apostate church in the blanks and see if you see what is standing around you rather than something that has to be specially built before the Antichrist can arise and then consider how much quicker that makes events able to happen when most everything is already in place.
