Which Israel should we recognize? The Israel of 1917; the Israel of 1936; the Israel of 1948; the Israel of 1956; or the Israel of 1967?

No mention of the Israel (de facto) of 1946, when Trans-Jordan was granted it's independence, thus leaving the rest of Palestine for the Jewish state. Only by force of arms was that area reduced and what is now called the "West Bank" attached to Trans-Jordan. Force of arms returned it to Israeli Control a mere 11 years latter. Those 1946 borders are what the borders of the State of Israel were when they declared their independence. Those are the borders they should retain. The Muslims and Christians living there should become Israelis, just as the Muslims and Christians in the rest of Israel are, or move to Jordan, Syria, Iraq, or Egypt.

That's very true. If Israel's post war creation was unjust colonialism, so was the creation of every state from Iraq to the Arabian peninsula.

RE: Borders

Which Israel should we recognize?

The entire land which almighty God swore he would give to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Moses. (Exodus 6:8)
