Yes, I think he did. It's like one of those wooden Russian dolls--open it up and there's another doll inside of it and another doll inside of it and another inside of it and another and another...

Was that it? All these years I had mistranslated. I thought it was described as "a misery, inside a puddle, wrapped in an enema..."

Back to Russian class for me...
