They tried this season, and it flopped...it really flopped. McGavin will be missed, along with Knotts. (sigh--guess I'm getting really, really old...)

Darren McGavin (1922 - 2006)
Actor, director, producer
Born: May 7, 1922, Spokane, WA
Education: College of the Pacific
A product of the Actors Studio, he did much stage and TV ("Mike Hammer," "The Outsider," "The Night Stalker") work but has appeared only intermittently in films, most effectively as a ruthless hero or a villain, memorably as the smooth pusher in Preminger's The Man With the Golden Arm (1955). In 1973 he directed (and produced) a first film, Happy Mother's Day, Love George (1973).

Today*s double loss reminds me of what pygmies there are providing "entertainment" these days.Exactly! I was just thinking the same thing. They will be remembered for their plastic bodies, the criminal activity that catapulted them to super stardom or their anti American politics!
