Soros Infiltrates Conservative Movement (know thy enemy)
Accuracy in Media ^ | February 7, 2006 | Cliff Kincaid

Posted on 02/25/2006 1:32:04 PM PST by jb6

Calvina Fay of the Drug Free America Foundation has pulled out as a speaker at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), which begins in Washington, D.C., on Thursday, because a "mini-debate" she was scheduled to appear in had been stacked against her. As it now stands, the event will feature two advocates of drug legalization, both of them funded by leftist billionaire and anti-Bush activist George Soros.

Having put most of the left-wing political movement and many liberal Democrats on his payroll, it is apparent that Soros is now working to manipulate the conservative movement. It is surprising that CPAC is facilitating his scheme.

A convicted inside trader who specializes in manipulating the currencies of the nations of the world, Soros is usually depicted as a "philanthropist" who believes in an "Open Society." Hence, the name of his major funding mechanism, the Open Society Institute. In the Soros view, of course, an "open society" means encouraging behavior that undermines the traditional values and culture of America. This is hardly "conservative."

Far-left billionaires George Soros and Peter Lewis, who heads the Progressive Insurance Company (remember that. If you have Progressive Insurance, you may want to look elsewhere) are sick. (self-sensored)

Come on now. If the tent is big enough for compassionate conservatives, the Libertarian wing needs a voice too.

I don't care if Soros IS funding them.

Calvina Fay is a crybaby coward ... like many WODdies. I'll debate twenty WODdies and win, because facts and logic are on my side.

According to the Marijuana Policy Project, the true story goes like this:

Kincaid reported that Fay cancelled her scheduled debate because it "had been stacked against her." However, during a Monday phone conversation with MPP Director of Government Relations Aaron Houston, Fay's Director of Communications Lana Beck told Houston that Fay had cancelled because she did not want to engage in a back-and-forth debate, and would only accept under the condition that each side give five-minute speeches, without openings, rebuttals or closings for each speaker [...]

On Thursday, Houston and a staffer for the Drug Policy Alliance (DPA) offered both Fay and Kincaid slots in a Friday panel discussion with MPP's Kampia and DPA's Ethan Nadelmann titled "War on Drugs: Misplaced Priority on Marijuana?" Fay had already been offered a slot on the panel, but declined. On Friday morning, the pair finally informed Houston that they refused to participate in the panel.

I'm thoroughly convinced that Soros has a financial interest that motivates his political activities.
