There were failures, yes. However a lot of the blame for those failures was misapplied. We have had dozens of catastrophic wx events in this country, but none of them ever hit a dem/welfare/socialist/corruption mecca. If anything, Katrina highlighted at least to the true "enlightened", just how miserable a failure Dem controlled welfare ideology is. But Im afraid that despite the honest and resonable people's knowledge of Katrina, the hurricane will always be termed a Bush failure..

I actually agree with you. The White House uses the term "lessons learned" to label what they learn from whatever they do so they will do better the next time, and the process they use to evaluate how well they did.

No operation is perfect, and I doubt anyone would argue Katrina was, but the left went overboard in trying to cover Democrat failutes by blaming FEMA and the Feds.

I don't know if any of you have been watching Tony on Fox this morning....but, he had on Peter King.

Now, those of us that have listened to Tony's show this week, know that Tony had done LOTS of homework on this ports deal..and even sent Griff out to the docks to speak with people out there.

He has been for the deal from the beginning, but hasn't done it just based on "trust" of the POTUS...he has interviewed Tommy Franks and others.

Well...Peter King came on and was STILL complaining that Bush didn't go to the 9/11 Commission for "permission"...and is saying there needs to be a full investigation...and when Tony said that both the President and the Dubai company had agreed to WAIT until all questions were answered...

THAT was NOT good enough for Peter...Tony looked puzzled and basically asked what he wanted, since they had already agreed to the delay??

Peter saw off into quoting stuff that UAE was supposedly doing back in the 90's..re: Bin Ladin...and that it doesn't matter if they have changed...they only have changed in order to do business with the US..

The kicker, for me, came when Tony asked Peter if he had spoken with Tommy Franks or Peter Pace....King pretty much blew them off....acting like they WEREN'T reliable sources...but the 9/11 commission ARE!!!

It was truly bizarre...and I got the feeling that King was just grasping for any excuse NOT to want to accept the offer by the Dubai company that they will do what it takes to allay Congress and American's fear.

Tony---if you read this, and had a different take about Peter King...feel free to correct me.
