What's weird is that absolutely anyone with a bit of experience in practical chemistry can use very ordinary household chemicals, and/or chemicals commonly kept in a high school chemistry course, to make lots and lots of things go 'boom' or catch fire.
Naturally, only some tiny fraction of people who've taken any chemistry course actually do go out and do this, but, if you consider the matter, this sort of action is just the same as homicide, arson, or both. The only difference is the weapon used.
