"informed representation" is why we are a republic, not a democracy. You cannot count on the public being informed in the same way as it's servants without either making secrets public knowledge, or without eliminating the free press, and managing information.

Democratic ideal's are necessary, but we need to stop PUSHING the populace into believing that their moments of fickle, uninformed judgment have any real validity. That is the flaw of the democrats, they PUSH for a momentary political gain, but the nature of our government FORCES them to take an average of governance, rather than being allowed to dictate the policies of the moment.

Quick aside, There was a book I read a long time ago(18 or so years I think) called "War Birds" by R.M.M. Mulloch, it's a sci-fi piece, with very little sci-fi, but it does a great job of showing the weakness and brilliance of our form of governances. When you read it (which if you are a sci-fi fan I recommend) you can see a US v Europe v Developing nation subtext to it. It's really a great book, lots of issues addressed. AND! it was written by a chick, which is surprising (cuz it is so ideal in it's militarism) with one exception.

I'll keep my eye out for it never heard of it. Thanks.

Thank God for Washington, Hamilton, Madison, Morris, Wilson, Franklin and those incredible men who gave us our amazing form of government now under constant attack from the Party of Treaon/Treason Media.
