Casa de Maryland, a taxpayer funded group that assists illegal immigrants, has made a public threat to the children of the grassroots Minuteman Civil Defense Corps that have made headlines since last fall monitoring day labor centers in the Washington DC area.
An article published yesterday by the Sean Sands of Maryland Community Newspapers Online quoted Casa de Marylands Executive Director Gustavo Torres saying We are going to picket their houses, and the schools of their kids and go to their work. If they are going to do this to us, we are going to respond in the same way, to let people know their neighbors are extremists, that they are anti-immigrant. They are going to hear from us.
The Minutemen have been photographing contractors picking up illegal aliens for work at the Wheaton day laborer center in Maryland spurring conflict with the illegal immigrant supporters.
Casa de Maryland, according to their own website, was designed to address the multiple conditions of poverty and disenfranchisement that control the lives of many Latino immigrants and refugees and achieves its goals through programs in areas such as leadership, organizing, women's empowerment, tenant support, employment, legal services, health, education, social services, and immigration assistance.
Casa de Maryland offers an email and phone number where someone can coordinate potential employers with experts in construction, carpentry, landscaping, babysitting, housekeeping, painting tiling, moving, odd jobs and more. Casa de Maryland claims to have placed approximately 5,760 men and women in different daily, temporary and permanent job settings in 2004.
The group's website states Casa de Maryland has partnered with Clark Construction, Allentuck Landscaping Company and AFL-CIO to provide those seeking employment with jobs.
From Casa de Marylands 2004-2005 annual statement the Minuteman Civil Defense Press Corps found 51% of the groups $2.7 million came directly from grants issued on behalf of Montgomery County.
In response to the threats, Minuteman Civil Defense Corps President Chris Simcox said, Threatening children like this is outrageous. Casa de Marylands funding should be pulled and its contracts cancelled. It is beyond belief that taxpayer dollars are funding this thuggish behavior."

" their neighbors are extremists, that they are anti-immigrant. "
NO! They are anti ILLEGALS! Huge difference!
You Bunch 'o Aldrich Ames's are gonna threaten Young girls & boys of Patriotic Americans!?!?!?
I'm gonna be praying that all of your hearts will be convicted and that you will publicly repent of your wrongdoing.
Oh...wow. IMO, this clown just crossed a line that can't be returned from.
Mess with alot and it will be tolorated..but mess with my kids...hell will be like a vacation before I'm done.
"they are anti-immigrant."
The groups that support illegal immigration seem to insist that opposition to it includes opposition to all immigration. The MSM feeds it by refusing to even suggest that there's a distinction. Although when it comes to abortion, they seem to have no trouble emphasizing that which is legal and that which is not. Just another entry for the 'Liberal's Doublethink Dictionary'.
Come and threaten my family and you'll be staring down the barrel of a semi automatic. Actually, I'm glad this is happening - it's just exposing illegal immigrant advocates for what they are - a 5th column in our society bent on undermining everything we've built in this country. You want war? Better be careful of what you ask for...
Nothing coming out of Prince Georges or Montgomery Counties surprises me. 2 of the most screwed up places in Maryland Liberals run wild up there.
In a saner time in America, those groups would be rounded up and run out of town on a rail!!
When the laws finally break down all the way and nobody obeys any law, it will be open season on traitors....big and small!!
To begin with I think it is wrong for taxpayer funds to go to a group that is enabling and supporting an illegal activity.
I'm not sure how we reached this point with the illegal alien issue. How does something go from illegal, to ignored, to taxpayer supported, all the while remaining illegal?
Casa de Maryland...was designed aid and abet the violation of Federal law.
There, I fixed their little mission statement.
I guess if we're going to turn into a bannana republic, we better get used to it.
So? As a nation we have decided that illegals have more rights than citizens. Live with it.
Why is this group's activities not seen as conspiracy after the fact, or otherwise aiding and abeting a criminal activity?
If I give assistance to a bank robber on the lamb, and then form a group to aid bank robbers, first can I get taxpayer funds to support my group, and second how would I avoid the fact that I knowingly assisted a criminal? The other question I have is what community would not only allow me to do this, but support my activities?
We're 3/4 the way there.
The time will soon arrive when the militias will be called to act.
When the government fails to do the basic job of enforcing its laws, then its time for the people to do the job.
A second American Revolution is coming.
It will be triggered by a catastrophe.
Start planting victory gardens.
Illegals in S. Texas have threatened local law enforcement and their families, not to mention, firing on Border patrol. No one in Washington seemed to think that was a 'big deal'. Maybe now that it's getting closer to their neck of the woods, somebody up there will wake up!
Bush's fault, this time for real. I would be a rabid dog if some mofo messed with my kids.
These people are aiding and abetting in the commission of a crime. They should be arrested.
Isn't it amazing that people opposed to illegal activity would be called extremists what nerve!!
It is past time to build a major fence/wall/barrier on the border and enforce all immigration laws.
