I think it would be cool to put them in the water at the River Walk in SA. (people could feed them the crappy food they serve) FYI: The movie "Piranha" was filmed in various locations throughout S. Central Texas including the San Marcos river and Town lake in Austin.

The Piranah is not legally sold in Texas but may be available on the black market.

Sounds real cost effective.

These people are idiots.

I spent a couple of months in Brazil.
Watched kids and pigs playing in a piranha infested river, the San Francisco river.
The way the natives take their cattle across an infested river is to slit the throat of one cow, downstream. Then take the others across upstream.

"Escape San Antonio is investigating the possibility that this insane practice has started or is about to start."

So this is not a story. There is not even anything here to base a story on. What's the point? May as well write a story that there are no northern pike in the Rio Grande and that they are investigating it if there really are not or maybe might not be.

It's amazing what fear and adrenalin can do. I was snorkling off Key West once and encountered an unusually large barracuda too closely.

As I remember it now, I briefly walked on water (with my flippers still on).

Just remember to NEVER take your eyes off of JESUS and you can go a long way.

You make a good point. If fear can motivate, how much more can faith in Him.

Off to the store...have a great weekend!.

Dinsdale?

They should unleash the Piranha brothers on the border. There would be a lot of illegal aliens getting their heads nailed to the floor, or at the very least getting their heads nailed to a coffee table.

Well he had to, didn’t he? I mean, be fair, there was nothing else he could do. I mean, I had transgressed the unwritten law.

What had you done?

Er… well he never told me that, but he gave me his word that it was the case, and that’s good enough for me with old Dinsy. I mean, he didn’t want to nail my head to the floor. I had to insist. He wanted to let me off. There’s nothing Dinsdale wouldn’t do for you..

"For many years the Pirhanna Brothers conducted their extortion "Operation" undetected and without fear. However, when they detonated a tactical nuclear warhead, even the police had to sit up and take notice."

"Dimsdale said "you've been a very naughty boy not paying up (the extortion money) Walter" and then he stabbed out my eyes and cut my right leg off. I said "But my name's not 'Walter'. After that, he became positively cross. So he nailed by head to the floor"

Piranah, despite the grade B horror flicks which depict them stripping down unsuspecting bathers, rarely if ever attack in the kind of feeding frenzy portrayed in the movies.

There are examples of pools of water in a recent flood area where the fish are cut off from food source and starving and some unsuspecting creature staggers in and they go wild. They are also attracted by blood and will bite someone swimming with an open wound.

However, Pihanah were all in the lake I used to swim in down in Colombia. Kids swam and bathed there all the time and we never had a problem (I worked for a while with Wycliffe Bible Translators, and was on the base at Lomalinda). Most of they hysteria about the fish is old wive's tales.

Sounds like a great new urban legend is born. If it slows them down I'm all for it - the legend that is. Somebody needs to get some cattle carcasses that have been mutilated and put them on the banks.
