Houston's Bob McNair, an owner of one of the NFL's high-revenue franchises, said yesterday the dispute between the owners over revenue-sharing pales in comparison to the chasm between the league and the NFL Players Association on talks to extend the collective bargaining agreement, which is a year from expiration. "The collective bargaining agreement is more in the hands of the Players Association and their willingness to be reasonable," McNair said. "No agreement is better than a bad agreement." McNair pooh-poohed the idea reported earlier this week that he and such fellow high-revenue owners as Washington's Dan Snyder would sue if a revenue sharing plan not to their liking was passed. McNair noted that "80 percent" of league revenues are currently shared.

That's a bit of a surprise, given the Texans' performance on the field. Just goes to show that profitability and winning don't necessarily go together.
NFL Ping
Huh. I don't usually go to football games because I don't like big crowds. I went to the Texans' second to last game last year and the crowd wasn't a problem.

We Redskins fans could have told you that. You need to have a good football office, stability with good coaches, and a mindset to throw out the knuckleheads and "me me me" guys. When Gibbs came back to D.C., we got two of the three.
I know. We suck. (She said, beaming proudly.)
Hey, I was there. I'm one of those idiot season-ticket holders. Got to see the last two home debacles of the season.
Come see me in Section 530, Chute 16.
Except I don't go to many of the games because I work overseas.
We have a good baseball team, though.
Are you Texan fans excited about Reggie Bush?
Where's sec 530? We were on the east end, behind the end zone. My co-worker has the tickets. Took a bath on them this year even with bringing everyone he could rope into going to a game, plus cooking tailgate. It was a really awesome seat because you're close enough to see really well from an end zone seat there and you have that huge wide-screen TV monitor above the field right in front of you. I used to go to UT games and you couldn't see a thing from the end zone.
Course, I used to drinks a bit back then.
At the last two home games, as the Texans stunk up the field in front of us, you could hear the chant 'round Reliant Stadium:
"Reg-gie! Reg-gie! Reg-gie!"
We actually cheered when we lost that last game of the season against the 49ers. (The Suck Bowl.) We figured after a season like the one we had just endured, the first pick in the draft was a decent consolation prize and we didn't want to blow that, too.
It's a great stadium. Now we just need to put a good team in it. ;-)
The Texans have fairly decent running backs. They need an offensive line. Reggie should be tradable for five good linemen. :)
I think that's the same end. My friend was complaining bitterly about the sun earlier in the season. So, along with a good team, they need to figure out that in Texas you keep the roof closed when it's still hot out, and open it when it gets cool.
It was 50 something degrees that day that we went (the game they won), and they had the roof closed because they said it was too cold for people. Well, I guess they figured, probably rightly, that no one was going to go through the least bit of discomfort to watch the Texans lose.
Damn right, either Reggie or trade for some very good picks.
YEEEEE HAWWWWWWW, the Texans will be a good team if we ever get an offensive line so that Carr can have more then 2.3 seconds to throw the ball.
100% agree. By the 10th week of the season my brother and
I were watching the schdule very closely. When they played and lost to SF we were jumping up and down yelling REGGIE, REGGIE!
