The down side of this is that other states won't want to give them reciprocity because Wyoming can't verify that the individual meets the requirements in the other states. (i.e., no restraining orders, no criminal record, no outstanding warrants, no mental health issues, etc.)

Mbynack, this will not replace their current concealed carry system. This "Vermont-style" concealed carry is in addition to their current system. So, if people from the great state of Wyoming wish to carry concealed in reciprocal states, they need only to get a Wyoming CCL.

In fact, I think Vermont should adopt this system, so that their residents can carry in reciprocating states. In fact, I think this Wyoming system is the best I've ever heard of.

Though I've only ever spent 2 weeks in Wyoming, it's obvious that this great state is getting better. If only Wyoming had a beach and hi-rises...
