new Canon imageCLASS D320 hooked up to a POS Compaq running MSWin98 second edition 4.10.2222A
the Compaq will not recognize the USB connection no matter what variation of the install routine I try.
yet... it "sees" the copier under hardware profiles.
what gives?

in my *infinite* wisdom, I decided to bring a USB flash memory device, just in case you asked me that question. ;)

Joy. Isn't Win 98 fun? 98 had issues with usb implementation, there were many patches and updates. Have you tried going to MS and doing a search/download of the latest/last usb drivers for win 98se?
