While I think MAS (a questionable organization and source) is exagerrating the numbers, the concerns regarding all-out strife between the Shias and the Sunnis are predictably high. While intra-muslim strife is something I support normally, this latest incident does not come at the right time for U.S. interests in Iraq.

It seems to be much quieter today. The violence is not sectarian so much as secular, tribe against tribe. As everywhere.

The "insurgents" are pushing for civil war, and the MSM in the US is cheering on the prospect as well, as it could spell doom for Bush's policies. The MSM would rather have Iraq and the entire Middle East dissolve into total anarchy and carnage than to have Bush's policies succeed.
I still think the policy and effort in Iraq will succeed, but if it doesn't, it was better than the policy of the left and the Democrats.....uh, now that I mention it, what is the policy of the left and the Democrats?

There are so many people practically praying that this will become a civil war.

Your right. But I think Zarqawi is having a field day over this. He is at the root of this. The Sunnis realize that they're in the minority and to blow up these Mosques would be their death nell.
No, Zarqawi and his al Qaeda brethren are responsible for this. If the Shia start a Civil War over this they are dumber than we all take them for.

When we leave, the Shia and Kurds are simply going to cut off their balls, then feed them to their previous owners. No CNN-induced Queensbury rules. I love the Sunni leaders calling for the government to protect them at the same time they pull out of talks. Thugs unclear on the concept. They are so going to lose. Hard.
