No problem, I've just been wandering the halls of FR and sort of meandered onto this thread, thought I'd check in.
If you weren't watching the first of Greta's show, it was pretty laughable. She's down in New Orleans and was interviewing some official at the Port of New Orleans. She tried as hard as she could to get him to say differently but he maintained over and over that he didn't see any difference occuring with port operations or security if the UAE should take over.
Then she interviewed a Coast Guard official at the Port of New Orleans and Greta kept saying over and over that we "aren't inspecting 100% of the containers". The Coast Guard officer continued to calmly maintain that in his opinion the customs dept have good procedures in place for container identification and inspection as it relates to port security.
She finally let it go, LOL!
I'll tell you what's turned me around on this, prairie...........and it just happened today.
CWO Jackson gave me the inside information on the Coast Guard, and what the Navy thinks.........and then I read Tommy Frank's comments, and I became convinced that there is absolutely no added security risk with this move, and that it is a good decision all around.
I am now at peace about the President's decision (thank the Lord!)
The order has come down the chain of command. Any officer not towing the line will need to seek a new career. That or Bush is not the Commander in Chief...last time I checked he was.
