The British firm, P&O, signed a 30-year lease with the Port Authority, and that lease would be assumed by DP World on March 2 unless Congress intervenes. President Bush has promised to veto any legislation blocking the sale.
So Dubai Ports World only has a lease on the property. Then that makes them like any other legitimate business owner. If they violate the terms of their lease then you can throw them out. I would think that helping terrorists would be a violation of the lease. Don't you think?
Everyone is so hot to form an opinion on this...why not see what DPW does, how they operate their part of the ports. I can't imagine them putting up armed guard towers and razor wire and setting up their own military bases. Which is how everyone is acting. It's a business, and DPW should be afforded the opportunity to demonstrate their ability to operate effectively. If they fail we can terminate their leases and it's that simple.
The rest is just noise to make the president look bad, ineffectual, or out of touch.

He doesn't need anyone's help to do that. He created 100% of this mess himself when he threaten to unwrap his long neglected Veto pen. Until that goof this was just an inter-party skirmish. But, a veto from this administration, now that has to be special; that has to be scrutinized.
