I think this was a Kerry district. It is probably impossible to beat Murtha, sad to say. But as long as the Dems are looking for strong challengers to run in previously safe Repub. districts, then I think the GOP ought to make every attempt to give Dems a fight.
Washington County went for Kerry by only 500 votes.Kerry 48,200-Bush 47,700.
Many individual boroughs went for Bush, mine included.
The 12th district(Murtha's) is where I live.The results were similar,although I don't remember the exact numbers.
Absolutely impossible. Go to Johnstown, PA sometime. It is a haven for government contractors. Murtha brings home the pork, and most of the voters are dependant upon his pork.
