The transit union here in NYC proved that last December. Even though it is illegal for them to strike, they did so anyway making everyones life a living hell for 3 days. And what did it accomplish? Absolutely nothing. The union accepted a deal and then they voted it down after going back to work.

But the Union got to raise the
dues, didn't they? So someone
benefitted...the guys at the top
of the ladder...as usual.

Indeed. I do business in NY almost every day, and it was very inconvenient and outright dangerous for some people.

The day before the strike started there was a gang of transit workers outside one of the GC subway entrances whooping like savages and daring passersby to criticize the impending strike.

One troglodyte was shouting at the top of his lungs: "I'm talking revolution, yo! You motherf***ers got a problem with that! Talking about a revolution!"

Disgusting goldbrickers.

If you look closely at what the union demands of the Transit Union workers were, it was positively LAUGHABLE!!
They want everything a Congresscritter gets! Possibility of retirment after X years (20?), FULL benefits everywhich way,etc.etc. It is NOT about being exploited through low wages and overwork! They are socialists at heart, and THEY DON'T WANT TO WORK! THEY HATE TO WORK! Like all socialists living in the USA, they want to hijack the fruits and possibilities only capitalism can create, and turn them into socialist benefits. They think capitalism is Socialism with Training Wheels, that the ultimate destiny of capitalism is to serve and fulfill the demands of the socialist utopia .
