Israel Claims al Qaeda Plans Mega-attack

Israeli security officials assess that 2006 is the "target year" set by the global al-Qaeda network to carry out a mega-attack in the country, Israel's leading newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported Thursday. bin laden

According to the report, Israeli intelligence authorities detected two years ago the shift in priorities of al Qaeda towards Israel, which has been "upgraded" to the rank of a major target. Recently, al Qaeda chief in Iraq Abu Musab al-Zarqawi declared his intentions to carry out an attack in Israel.

The report added Syria has been identified as a transfer point for al Qaeda members planning to carry out attacks in Jordan and Israel. It should be mentioned that on Wednesday Israeli Deputy Chief of Staff Moshe Kaplinski said that "global Jihad forces" maintain regular bases in Lebanon and Jordan.

our Polish friends were "bumped" off the list because Poland sent more than 50,000 immigrants from their country over the last five years. The following countries were also not eligible for the GC lottery this year for the same reason: Canada, China, Colombia, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Haiti, India, Mexico, Jamaica, South Korea, United Kingdom, Pakistan, Russia, and Vietnam. Frankly we shouldn't be taking any immigrants from the mideast at this point. The 3 who were arrested in Ohio the other day were all naturalized citizens from the mideast. The fact that they're now legal citizens is going to make for some expensive and drawn out trials.

I definitely agree, this is what it has come to. We have become complacent yet again, and the only thing that will wake this country up is another major attack on our soil. The American public is different then it was 60 years ago (I think, I am only 30), our attention spans are crap and we focus more who is to blame for a problem instead of picking ourself up and hitting back at that problem harder then we were hit. Our elected leaders are more worried about future elections and positioning for power then the actual state of our union and it is going to be paid back to us in spades.

I still can't believe it is only 4 1/2 years after 9-11 and a large portion of our country has grown spineless so quick. I wonder what the next benchmark in deaths and financial loss will it take before we get pissed off again, and after that how long will it take until we become complacent again.

One of our Polish FRiends pointed out that the majority of the countries elgible for our immigration lottery are islamic countries that hate us while nations like poland were bummped off the list.
