But her point is a good one. But of course, she is approaching it from the wrong direction.
If the government hands money to a parent, they are going to demand to exercise control. This is inevitable. The government never gives out money without demanding control.
Many of us have children in private schools because we want to avoid the idiocies of the public school system. The control that comes along with vouchers would extend those idiocies to every private school as well. That is why I do not support vouchers.
Perhaps we stop funding education via government and have parents pay for educating their children? Taxes go down, parents pay for the education they want with the money they save as taxes are reduced, people who don't have kids don't pay for others children and the Feds in particular, get out of a business which they were never chartered to do in the first place.
