Thank God that there are "some" students from the younger generations that do "get it". Honestly, I was beginning to wonder if "any" of the younger generation students were ever going to "get it".
Well I'm 21, and I get it (mostly due to FR I might add). Sadly, though, I have very little hope for my generation. I say on a regular basis that most young people today are complete sacks of crap (or as Rush puts it "skulls full of mush") and I mean it. It's not necessarily that they're all a bunch of raging libs. In reality, most of them don't care one bit about or know anything about anything that's of any importance to the country as a whole. Pure apathy and stupidity.
I'm not singling out Democrats either. I don't think there was a single person in my College Republicans group that would appreciate FR. The willingness of the members of that group to just be used as blunt political tools come election time with no regard for trying to make even a tiny stir at our liberal campus really opened my eyes and depressed me greatly.
I applaude this kid for actually believing in something and not backing down from it. Yeah, the article says he's a liberal, but he'll be over to our side in a couple years I have no doubt. And don't get me wrong, there are plenty (in absolute numbers) of good thoughtful conservative young people out there (though I haven't met any in years). They are vastly outnumbered by a crop of no-nothings of all stripes, though, so I wouldn't get your hopes up too much. Just my observations from the lion's den.
