My guess is that the "done in secret" refers to the process by which this was evaluated, which was in secret, as required by law. I have no clue where that poster got the "violates U.S. law" part.

They don't "own" anything but a contract to operate the port.

They will own the British company who operated ONE TERMINAL in the port.

They're not BUYING THE PORT - which has been the statement by the press that got everybody riled up.

The port is OWNED BY THE PORT AUTHORITY OF NEW YORK. The contract to operate the port was held by a British company who sold the contract to the UAE. That's it!

I can vouch for the "Gerbil Alley" port in Dubai. Very well run. I've pulled into there countless times. It's huge, busy, but organized and safe.

If the slimey political hack democrat hypocrites are against it, and honorable men such as George W. Bush, and Gen. Tommy Franks are for it, then, I would rather cast my fate with men of honor and courage over dirty rats.

Moreover, it is wise, prudent and beneficial to have business arrangements with the people who give our troops bases from which to execute the war on terror.

When I see the likes of obstructionist democrat leaders raising the alarm over this certain transaction, and suddenly worry about America's National Security, then I certainly would question their motive.

I truly believe the democrat leaders are a bunch of America hating bigots. Their hostility will cause much more difficulty in our ability to win the war on terror by slapping the very faces of the UAE government which has been a partner in our efforts to win this battle. They have a proven track record of defending the terrorists, and will continue to do so by slamming this business transaction down the tubes.

When it comes to the defense and protection of America, I'd rather side with Bush and Franks than the likes of Clinton and Schumer.

The Maersk company (A.P.Moller) is Denmarks most successful enterprise, kind in a scope like Microsoft. They are very respected within the shipping industry, NOT like Onasis. They are also big in the oil industry and was the culprit to find Danish oil in the North Sea, making the country self sufficient in crude oil and natural gas. They bought out the U.S. Sealand, so all the babble in Washington, whether dims or the pubs, is because these talking heads have absolutely NO clue about the maritime or shipping industry. Remember before Y2K they predicted that all shipping as well as airlines would come to a total stand still!??!

I have been saying for years now that our elected officials have become elected royalty rather than public servants.

First we had king Bush the first and then King Clinton. Now we have King George set up to hand the crown over to queen Clinton. At least they are keeping it all in the family.

Does this situation with the Bushes snuggling up with the Clintons remind anyone of how the European royalty used to inbreed in order to keep the crown in certain families?

Well .. I have been quiet and just listening to the debate. I've read a lot of stuff and investigated the info myself.

The people I have listened to the most were those who did the same thing .. they looked and tested the data and talked to other people with knowledge about the issue. I will not name them because that may prejudice some people.

This deal was in paper in November, why did it take so long for all this bring on all of this????
Hillary is against it but Bill Clinton went over there made 2 speeches. Got 300,000.00 one not sure how much for other one. So if they are so bad why does Bill go there and make speech and get paid for it??? More Democrats hypocrisy. The Republican who are raising cane should rethink what they are saying.
