I do keep hearing that the Soviets were not Russian by birth, however, it was Russia proper, Moscow where the Soviet headquarters were. ==

The capital of Russia before bolshevick Civil war was SaintPetersburg not Moscow. Moscow' Kremlin was the headquater of Partriarch. Bolshevicks evicted Partriarch and took his place.
They did as occupiers.

So who did the "Bolshevik" civil war consist of? How did the Russian people have a civil war in their midst and not be a party to it?
