QUOTES: "When African American History Month began eight decades ago, it was based on the belief that if African Americans were to take their rightful place in American society, Americans of all races should learn about black contributions to our history. That conviction is every bit at true today as it was in 1926. Generations of African Americans have added to the unique character of our society. Our nation is stronger and more hopeful as a result of those contributions."
"I look forward to meeting with Prime Minister Singh in India, and President Musharraf in Pakistan. We will discuss ways that our nations can work together to make our world safer and more prosperous by fighting terrorism, advancing democracy, expanding free and fair trade, and meeting our common energy needs in a responsible way."
Bush congratulates Carrietha "Katie" Ball and her sister, Karl'Nequa Ball of Jackson, Miss., after awarding them the President's Volunteer Service Awards.

Two interesting things about US Supreme Court Justice Alito's nomination and swearing in as written by William Ford, http://www.willfordministries.org :
"Interestingly, his nomination announcement was on Oct. 31st, 2005, the same day that recently deceased Civil Rights catalyst Rosa Parks body came to Washington D.C. for a memorial service and to lie-in-state at the Capital Rotunda ... Judge Alito and President Bush ... visited Rosa Parks' casket together that same day.
"Three months later, Alito was then confirmed by the Senate and sworn in on Jan. 31st, 2006, the same date that Coretta Scott King died--the first lady of the Civil Rights Movement and wife of patriarch Martin Luther King, Jr. Neither of these events [is coincidence]. Both Samuel Alitos nomination and his confirmation dates were filled with media reports about todays new "Justice", and yesterdays courageous matriarchs who cried out for justice.

introduced by Dr. Vishakha N. Desai, President of the Asia Society of Washington. In previewing his upcoming trip to the country, Bush said Americans should not fear U.S. jobs going to India.

Bush is applauded as he is introduced to speak at the Asia Society meeting in Washington. President Bush talked about some of the issues he would address on his upcoming trip to India and Pakistan
