Congress didn't know because it is a federal crime to talk about the specifics of the deal.

Really? What federal law made secret government constitutional? If a federal law makes it a crime for congress to know anything, how can they govern properly?

You are so wrong. I am as conservative as anyone on this site but I think this deal will go through. Have you done any research on this at all? I have. You sound more like someone from DU with your reaction to someone who does not share your viewpoint.

If you are responding to my last post to HOTB then you are only seeing a a small part of the movie. We have been "discussing" this for most of the week. IF you bothered to check my back round you would see that I have been on FR for many years. Yes I have done my research and you sound like you have swallowed the line hook and all from the Administration. This deal is BAD because is gives ACCESS regarding our security techniques and policies to a statistically larger group of evil people. If I want to commit any crime of significance give me all the inside info you can find. As for the UAE they have only recently come over to our side. Most of their public actions are for news consumption. They freeze terrorists assets in one account and then open others. Much support for terrorism flows through this free for all economy. AQ has told the UAE NOT to do anything that threatens them or they will pay the price because they have people in the UAE gv'mnt.

Lastly I do not trust Bush on any border security issues. He sucks at ALL of them. IF our borders were tight then we wouldn't need to kill terrorists "over there" to prevent them from coming here.

Unless of course you find it necessary to come to the aid of HOTB. As I told him McCain, Carter and Rush are for this makes it a very suspect deal to me. And of course as I told HOTB if you are so confident this is a good and safe deal move next to one of the ports in question. I didn't start the petty stuff with HOTB but I am willing to respond back in kind. Since he started it then the assumption is that he has no more logic in his quiver to fight with.

So this done-deal is about right principles according to Bush, although Bush wasn't aware of the deal and its right principles just a few weeks back due to the laws written by the congress in 1988.

And the secret deal with the UAE for cooperation in the Iraqi war wasn't known by Bush or anyone in the administration either. And that secret deal has nothing to do with this ports deal that Scott Mac says may or may not hurt our secret deal if it isn't ratified.

And Brits are the same as the Taliban-supporting, AQ financing, Hamas-loving, Israel-hating, gave us two of the hijackers on 9-11 UAE. And a British company in charge is the same as the govenment of the UAE that is a islamic theocracy under sharia law which is expecting a savior within the next few years that demands they destroy the infidels by all means necessary.
