Is killing one conjoined twin to save the other child murder?

Not if it happens while your trying to save both of their lives simultaneously.

So you would agree that abortion as medical necessity should be legal?

Praise God!! That's great news!! This will drive the liberals wild. They're so afraid they will lost their right to murder babies. I'll be praying that the Governor will sign it!

Then the real battle begins. The ACLU will sue (immediately) to get it before some liberal federal judge who will shoot it down. It will work it's way through the courts and finally end up being heard before the Supreme Court. IF only a couple more of the liberal Supremes would retire or die, we could get a conservative court. IF we don't lose control of Congress this year!!

Title X question and Murder Question:

What if someone from South Dakota goes to another state and asks for Title X funding (using their South Dakota address) for an abortion (say in Minnesota). Would this law say that the unborn is a citizen of South Dakota and therefore cannot be murdered in another state.

I would like this tacked onto the question that will ultimately be put before the US Supreme Court.

After all, someone who has brain activity (about the 8th to 10th week of pregnancy or earlier) and heart beat (I believe that is in the sixth week of pregnancy) should have the same rights as someone in a hospital who has a heartbeat and brain activity - there should be rules for how this person dies...

I suppose some people would be of the belief to wait on doing this.

I'm of the opinion change never happens when you wait for it to happen.

Might as well push the issue. Who knows. Maybe by the time it hits the Supremes we'll have a majority. If not, no reason it cannot be tested again.

IF we don't lose control of Congress this year!!

Now is that any way to talk? : ) Seriously, though, the Republicans really need to focus on gaining a working majority this year instead of wetting themselves thinking they'll lose the majority.

Do they ever do that in the womb? It's my understanding that conjoined twins are usually separated after birth. Sometimes, long after birth.

Heartbeat begins on Day 22 after conception.

They can, and have, done it in the womb. Point was, sometimes the baby has to die to save the mothers life, and even occasionally the other way around. I think that in those cases it should be a medical decision and remain legal in all 50 states.

If it is signed into law, it will be struck down within a few minutes by some federal judge.

There's nothing a judge needs to strike. Where federal law overrules state law, state law is simply ignored. There are plenty of states that have all sort of laws on the books prohibiting various types of abortions; some predate Roe v Wade; some are newer. They're all just irrelevant until and unless the Supreme Court somehow modifies Roe.

National Right to Life must be slipping. Last time, they were able to scuttle this bill.

Sure. Every pro-lifer supports allowing abortion in the case of the life of the mother. The problem isn't the life of the mother, but the health of the mother...which becomes the mental health of the mother (thanks to the judiciary) which is an exception that you can drive a truck through.
