That's my point: Was he "left out" of the loop? Was there even a "loop" to begin with? Outside of politics and the media, is this really a big deal?
Much like the Cheney hunting incident, this has become an issue because the media jumped on it (but not fast, since the deal was done in November). Like the Harriet Meirs fiasco, the media has run with the "Bush alienating his base" angle.
We have planes landing on UAE airfields and aircraft carriers docking in UAE ports right now. A huge comany owning another huge company doesn't mean Crazy Abdul is going to be unloading cargo in a U.S. port.
