Could someone with WSJ online pull this article?

Democrat officials' firm helped Dubai purchase ports

Little noticed in the kerfuffle over the takeover of major US ports by Dubai Ports is the key role being played by former Democratic Party leaders. Lobbying firms associated with ex-Democratic Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle and Madeleine Albright (Clinton’s Secretary of State) have been working http://online.wsj.com/article/SB114054059300379152-email.html (paid subscription only link) to secure approval of the purchase by Dubai.

One would think that our leaders, even when out of office, would care more about their nation than their bank accounts. This hopefully will give impetus to a bill (drafted by Republican Congressman Mike Rogers of Michigan) working its slow way through Congress that would bar http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/c/a/2006/02/12/INGHIH5NF51.DTL federal employees from representing foreign governments for four years after they leave public service.

A sad statement: we need a law that restricts former government leaders, who presumably would have America’s interest at heart, from going on the payroll of foreign regimes, even those with connections to terror activities.

A Thought on Port Deals
By Mark Noonan at 08:31 AM
Back in 2000, American Moslems voted for GW, in 2004 they voted for Kerry. The reason? Short sightedness - Moslems were bamboozled into voting Democrat in 2004 because the Democrats were all out against "racial profiling", etc. I hope now that American Moslems have learned where their true friends are - where, that is, decisions are made based upon the right or wrong of it all, rather than based upon short-term political gain.

And then there's this thought from Opinion Journal:

http://www.opinionjournal.com/editorial/feature.html?id=110007999

The timing of this sudden uproar is also a tad suspicious. A bidding war for the British-owned P&O has been going on since last autumn, and the P&O board accepted Dubai's latest offer last month. The story only blew up last week, as a Florida firm that is a partner with P&O in Miami, Continental Stevedoring and Terminals Inc., filed a suit to block the purchase. Miami's mayor also sent a letter of protest to Mr. Bush. It wouldn't be the first time if certain politicians were acting here on behalf of private American commercial interests.
I've said it before, and I'll keep saying it - President Bush over his time in office has earned the right to be trusted, at least by we GOPers who have supported him. He hasn't been the rock-ribbed conservative dream, but he never advertised himself as such. What he has said, he has done - and we in the GOP have reaped major rewards due to President Bush's leadership.

President Bush says this deal is ok. Who do you want to trust? President Bush, or a half-assed pundit who doesn't know even 10% of the details? Until someone comes up with a rock solid reason for stopping this deal, I'm going to go along with President Bush judgement.

On Its Face This Looks Like Insanity...

February 21, 2006 - When The Republican minority leader of the New York City Council, James Oddo, and ultra-leftist Democrat Senator Charles Schumer agree on something, that's [expletive] news.

At a point in time when Homeland Security and its assorted dot-collectors know that the murderous jihadists have acquired a bunch of ships and the Iranians have test fired seaborne missiles that could carry nukes produced by the Axis of Evil, New Media journalists have looked past the manufactured media hype about VP Cheney's hunting accident to take note of the astonishing fact that the United Arab Emirates might take over management of a list of several key American ports. A British Company called Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Co. got bought out by Dubai Ports World for $6.8 billion and the implications are significant. New York, New Jersey, New Orleans, Baltimore and Miami are involved.

Suddenly liberal Democrats who see no reason to defend human liberty and establish democracy in the Middle East or concern themselves with whether or not aliens can wander in and pick up a driver's license as easily as they can get movie tickets have become concerned about homeland security.
For the history-impaired public school types, unions involved with longshoremen and stevedores long ago drove the US merchant marine companies away from the American flag to which liberal judges think nobody should swear allegiance if God gets honorable mention. So some Brits have been running things for years and now they're cashing out and Islam is buying in. This is breaking news to people who thought nothing of Jimmy Carter tossing off the Panama Canal which was followed by the acquisition by Chinese Communists of port cities at both ends.

Why the Democrat concern now? Call it a realization of the 9-11 and Katrina effects.

New York liberals were fat, dumb and happy with liberalism until crazed killers came to town and took away lives and landmarks. Since that day, they've since gone back to their delusions but New Orleans presented a different prospect. The crooked politicians who stole or diverted all of the money that has for years been bilked from American taxpayers who bought the bait-and-switch line that the cash would improve levees and save lives have lost their voter base. The levees did break, the welfare recipients have relocated, most will never return to the "chocolate city" and political clout has been dispersed across the map.

What if the UAE lets some major bad thing happen in Baltimore, New York or Miami where Democrat politicians have clout?

Not only will many more Americans realize that a Democrat mayor is the virtual equivalent of a Weapon of Social Destruction but the dependent voters will be dispersed from Demerica and dispersed from the little blue pockets of isolated resistance to places where people believe in success and survival and reject the leftist loser mentality. The government checks, even if wasted on liquor and lap dances, will be spent in the other America. The rebuilders will also come from the real world outside Demerica.

France has learned yet again the futility of appeasement. Maybe New Jersey, New York, Miami and Baltimore are seeking a cure for Clue Deficiency Syndrome as well.

The operative sentences:

"Dubai Ports World executives plan to visit Washington this week to brief congressional leaders and staffers and administration officials on the deal. Girding for a battle, the company is tapping well-connected consulting firms for help: Downey-McGrath Group, founded by former congressmen from both parties, and Alston & Bird LLC, whose advisers include former Senate Democratic Leader Thomas Daschle of South Dakota.

In the background is Albright Group, a firm founded by former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright. The Albright Group doesn't lobby but has provided strategic advice to Dubai Ports World, specifically on expanding the company's presence in China."
