The Christian and Jewish sites in Jerusalem, maybe. Remember when some Palestinians took hostages in Jerusalem and desecrated religious items. I can't remember the date but it lasted for quite a while. I think Arafat was still alive. Foggy memory, but I remember there were threads about the value and meaning of religious sites.
