How many times have Brits attacked us in the last 30 yrs?
Until the day comes when the British empire send bombers, nuke subs or invading troops to the US I would trust them as brothers.
Lets imagine an alternate history world where oil never developed in the mas quantities we have now, where when we went from coal to steam to electric vehicles we went on to use hydrogen, propane fuels instead with possibly an era of ethanol based fuels.
The middle east not having any sufficient amount of oil never became a ultra rich nation, never felt the presence of outside interest because of the black treasure beneath its sands, never built up a resentment and hatred filled Islamic image but instead stayed in their own country practicing whatever type of muslim laws there and not having half the planet Islamic followers.
Now IF we lived in a world like that from a show scripted for Sliders I would have no problems allowing the Arabs to have that influence if they had a solid reputation of honesty similar to Swiss bankers.
But I live in the world of nere and now and unless I am a complete idiot the only reason I would trust the Swiss with my banking is that they have never attacked me, I even allow them to guard the Pope.
Maybe we should have Arabians guarding the Vatican instead?
