Interesting. I've spent a lot of time in China and Dubai. Their internet restrictions are no where near similar and I happily post to FreeRepublic in both countries. We want the Middle East to be a stable region with a solid economy based on competitive trade and free markets. Exactly what the UAE is accomplishing.

President Bush chooses his words carefully. He has referred to the UAE company as one that "plays by the rules" and has had nothing (that I have seen) positive to say about the company they are replacing. There is more to this than we know. The President is too passionate about this for there not to be. The same level of passion he has reserved for the war on terror.

As for England being on our side in the WOT. If the British people had their way, England would be holding hands with France around the same campfire singing Kum Ba Ya.
