It is a German Keettenkraftrad.

Very interesting vehicle Alfa....the likes of which I've never seen. I can't quite make out where the driver is supposed to be!

If you look closely at the pic you can just barely see the top of the seat back just below the "windows". At the link there are a couple of better pics.

What is cool about this piece of equipmernt is that it is possible to remove the front fork and run on just the tracks. Of course ya can't go very fast on just the tracks, but ya can go!!!

Payload is about 1000 pounds or so.

Ah, those things were around during WWII. The Nazis used them. One was in "Saving Private Ryan." I have seen them in many war movies over the years.
