Swann is emminently likable, and has a good chance of beating Rendell.

Just hope he holds up well under pressure, and doesn't have any skeletons in his closet, so to speak.

They won't be able to do as much of that this time, Swann is going to skim off a fair chunk of those double and triple black votes in the major cities east and west.

Does a donation of $15,000 from Friends of Senator Jubelirer Committee count?

Ol' "Fast Eddie" is really worried, which is probably the reason why he won't sign the "Voter ID Bill" just passed in PA. The Dems in Philly would have a hard time figuring out how to get all those dead people to show up and produce ID's.

Be careful what you wish for.

Rendell should be thrown out of office and probably serve a term or two in the Big House, but will we be better off with Swann?

Swann is backed by the corrupt RINO PA Senate Majority Leader Bob Jubelirer. At the same time that we are trying to clean up Harrisburg, Swann appears to be a puppet of the ring leader.

Can we expect reform from a guy who wouldn't even put the blame for the recent pay jacking fiasco where it belonged -- on the very same guy that is backing him now?

Why should we vote for a guy backed by the current corrupt machine and the complicit State Committee?

I know, I know. Because he's not Rendell.

Are you really sure that he'll be better?

Let me guess- you're going to be one of those belligerent self-named "principled conservatives(?)" who just opt to stay away from the polls all together. Spite makes right, huh? Suit yourself.

My goal is to oust Rendell before he sends this Conestoga wagon off the cliff. Maybe Panyard would have been my first choice, but now I'm going to work my butt off for Swann, and deal with our RINOs at the ballot box.

Yes, I'm sure he'll be vastly better - a freakin' potted plant would be an improvement over Rendell. And I'm also sure that Swann will not squander the historic opportunity to be the first black governor of our state and to do his best to clean up the corruption. Getting people like Jubilier out of power is the responsibility of the ones who put him there in the first place- the electorate...it's our job, and if you're not working towards a solution you are part of the problem.

You make quite a leap to assume that Swann is a puppet because he is not attacking the leaders of his own party out of the gate?! Swann will be nobody's puppet, and he will write a chapter for the history books. As will future governor Blackwell in Ohio, and Senator Steele in Maryland.

Well thank you for your blessing.

I will vote as I see fit and when no candidate is acceptable, I will abstain or vote 3rd party.

It's not that great of a leap if you aren't being willfully blind to the evidence. In a GOP led legislature, the pay raise could not have been possible without the GOP & GOP leadership complicity. The whole state knew that the GOP was responsible, but the only ones who remained silent were the leadership, the State Committee, and the candidates seeking to curry favor with them.

When the goal is cleaning up corruption and malfeasance and misfeasance, you can't get there if you protect the guilty and that is exactly what Swann did. I had high hopes for him despite early misgivings. He has done nothing to dispel my concerns.

He is a tool, a puppet, or a lap dog of Jubelirer. Take your pick. Why would you believe that he'll bring about any improvement when Jubes needs the status quo to hide his shenanigans?

Do you think that the GOP leadership maintaining an UNAUDITED $100 Million plus slush fund is a good idea?

Remember the old saw: Lay down with dogs and you get up with fleas. Swann is walking in circles to make his dog's bed more comfortable.

I hear nothing but good about Ken Blackwell and I hope that he wins. I don't know much about Steele so I won't offer a comment.

"Just hope he holds up well under pressure, and doesn't have any skeletons in his closet, so to speak."

Oh, I wouldn't worry about that. If he doesn't, the RATS will make up some stories and the MSM will carry their water, repeating them 24-7 until they become facts in the simple minds of the PA voters.

And it will probably be 115% voter turn-out in Philly. They will keep on voting until the RATS win.

Oh, yeah! That's right! You show them! You "send them a message!"

The problem is that the message you will be sending everyone is that "Us Principled Conservatives are still morons for the RAT Party!"

Drive-on, Junior, Drive-On!
