Not if you refuse to, or keep mainlining the Kool-Aid.
All the facts are presented to you...if you refuse to understand, "bear your chains lightly".
Like citizens of the UAE?
I agree with you. Bush should get out and explain his reasoning to the public. I have read that we have 'our own inspectors' in the other countries checking what goes on the ships before they head here but it still seems 'chancy'.
We probably agree on more things than you think. I just post more often when discussing things I don't agree with, that's all. :-)
Do you actually know how many containers get inspected? It is less than 10% according to Fox News. Does that concern you?
I got it pulled. It's disgusting to keep beating that dead horse.
Do you feel that the difference is really that significant? Would you feel comfortable with Iran operating the ports if the US was still in charge of security.
Of course, the UAE isn't Iran but the point I'm making is that that operations are still an important item to consider.
Not really, given he threatens to use that VETO Pen on many items you'd support. He never does, but please do not intimate this is a new occurence. What would be a new occurence is if he actually used it.
BTW, before folks think about pigeon holing everyone into GOP/Prez bots?
I was vocally against Miers. Came around to CAFTA. Oppose CFR. Somewhat hostile to repeated donations to Africa that are impossible to oversee make their intended designations. Do not even want to hear about a guest worker program until illegal immigration is improved upon and our laws for applying for citizenship are improved upon, but even them I'm abivalent to it at this time. I'm for NCLB and against the Medicare/Prescription Drugs. Oh, and I was against the Court ordered death of Terri Schiavo. Just throwing that in there since it was another isue that divided folks along less partisan lines.
Let's not pretend this is a bot issue. It is not. On one side we have Chuck Schumer. On another side Jimmy Carter. If one side thinks they can claim the moral high ground they are deluding themselves. On either end you must jump in with typical enemies on any other day.
I'm not comfortable with the "idea" of selling to this group. Whether or not that lack of comfort is justified or not, I have not arrived at a position. The only position I do arrive at is that I can't rely on the MSM, naturally, for info. The admin is obviously selling this sale. And conservatives have become, to put it kindly, less than rational.
Given the issue, it's a shame so many people are running about with heads cut off. I'm inclined to join the side against this sale instinctively, but I don't like lynch mobs. And when I see so many folks acting like the past years of solid performance on the WOT by this administration is worth nothing, I'm inclined to withhold negative reaction and hear out the administration's argument and look for a few precious unprejudiced souls on either side that can give me more insight into what's happening.
Clearly, politically, this was a bad move, boneheaded really, given the "perception" Americans hold of S.A. But whether that perception holds up to the realities of the situation I do not know.
Sarcasm, my dear.
Well, according to you, unless they died this week, it doesn't count, right?
LOL.........it's amazing just who they will sympathize with in their zeal to trash Bush.
Most people here have no clue about this and are instinctively going off half-cocked, just like they do when anything else of significance comes down the pike.
I commend your effort to take a neutral stance, because as you said that you had no idea what this was all about.
Super Secret, Super Genuis plan number 13,487.</ Sarcasm>
Yea, the dolts out there probably are beginning to think that must always vote either for someone named "Bush" or someone named "Clinton." No one else could possibly do the job.
"The perception in the Arab-American community is that this is related to anti-Arab sentiment," she said.
He said nothing new, but that won't stop the Bush-haters and the knee-jerkers on this forum.
Though I am not very pleased with the port deal I
refuse to bash Bush. There may be more going on and a
reason down the line that may explain.
This war is not by the book as some here think.
If any here think Hillery and Schumer are tough on terrorist because they oppose Bush, you have been suckered.
And I have a bridge to sell.
They are using this to divide and conqueror.
I understand many here don't understand this, It takes both
book smart and street smarts to understand what is going on. Many need to obtain this before they continue with
their gratitous bashing of Bush.
Read it.
Jeff, you've been duped.
"You're just trashing Arabs because they happen to be Arabs."
Maybe it's because from their ranks come terrorists who kill maim and murder innocent men women and children in the name of their god allah.
Perhaps if the terrorists who killed thousands on 911 and continue to kill maim and mutilate hundreds around the world came from Norway, and were say buddhists, some wouldn't feel the way they do about Arabs. Ya think?
Problem is the 911 terrorists came from Saudi and the UAE.
And we(those opposed) don't want them at our ports in any capacity.
Deal with it.
LOL!!!
