If anyone's wondering about what sort of church this is, a visit to www.judson.org will more than satisfy your curiosity. Here's just a sample.

Current News and Information

Getting the Real Story on Iraq
A small group of Iraqis cheering in the streets of Baghdad is far from the full story. We must not let the U.S. corporate media drive our assumptions about this war and occupation. United for Peace and Justice has organized a terrific page of independent news and information sources so you can stay solidly informed about the reality of what's happening on the ground in Iraq, and help to spread the word.

A Costly War
Visit www.costofwar.com to see the financial cost of the war. Figures are provided for states and many cities. Comparison are provided to show other ways the money could have been spent.

Media Reform
Free Press is a national organization working to increase informed public participation in crucial media policy debates. The ultimate aim of Free Press is to generate a range of policies that will produce a more competitive and public interest-oriented media system with a strong nonprofit and noncommercial sector. This site provides crucial information and resources on the battle for a free press, including updates on the current push to get Congress to overturn the FCC decision.

The Memory Hole
This great site professes to exist "to preserve and spread material that is in danger of being lost, is hard to find, or is not widely known." Examples: government files, court files, corporate memos, congressional testimony, etc. It emphasizes material that exposes information we're not supposed to know (or that we're supposed to forget).

Big Picture Small World
Given the news coverage of the war seemed more like coverage of a football game, this website only takes a couple of minutes to experience and yet makes an entirely different, highly powerful message.

FREE MUSIC
Thurston Moore of the 22-year old avant-rock band Sonic Youth, along with Chris Habib, Sonic Youth's Webmaster and technology whiz, has started his own free music label, Protest Records. Protest Records is giving its music away as MP3's on the Internet. Most songs on the site advocate peace, or question the motives for the current war. Songs by such artists as Cat Power and the Beastie Boys are alongside more avant-garde acts such as Eugene Chadbourne and Sharon Cheslow.

Citizens for Legitimate Government
is a multi-partisan activist group established to expose the Bush coup d'etat, and to oppose the Bush occupation in all of its manifestations. Highly informative and humorous site.

Poets Against the War in Iraq
On March 6th in Judson's Sanctuary, eight distinguished poets spoke out against the impending war. An attendee contributed a beautiful drawing of the event.

Basically, it's a leftist activist organization that calls itself a "church" and twists the gospel message to fit their agenda.

I have a difficult time not being angry with God for giving babies to people like her when I have a lot of trouble getting and staying pregnant. This world is sick.
